01

Shifting
Internal Focus

During the process, external distractions gradually become less dominant.

Internal focus begins increasing, and attention becomes less centered on the surrounding environment and more internally concentrated.

As the nervous system becomes more regulated, the mind can enter a more receptive state for deeper subconscious work.

02

Individual
Nervous System
Responses

Some individuals enter a more internally focused state quickly, while others require additional time to relax or enter their zone.

Mental activity, emotional regulation, stress levels, and nervous system responsiveness can all influence how quickly the induction process progresses.

A slower response does not prevent hypnosis from occurring.

The induction process is adjusted based on individual response, comfort, and subconscious receptivity.

03

What Hypnosis Actually Feels Like

Many individuals remain aware of their surroundings while experiencing a heightened state of internal focus and concentration.

Hypnosis is not sleep, unconsciousness, or loss of control.

Individuals can typically hear, think, and respond during hypnosis.

Some people experience deep physical relaxation, while others notice primarily mental quietness, increased focus, or reduced external distraction.

Individual experiences can vary depending on nervous system responsiveness, emotional regulation, and subconscious receptivity.

Frequently Asked Questions

"What is hypnosis and what does it feel like?"

Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness that increases receptivity to suggestions. It feels like stress relief or like peace after waking from a nice slumber. The less rested you are, the more relaxing a trance state may feel.

"Why can't some people be hypnotized? Is hypnosis only for weak-minded people?"

Hypnosis is not a force of nature that zaps away your free will. It is also not about whether your mind is strong or weak. It is about whether you are willing to be hypnotized.

Willing minds tend to cooperate with the process. That cooperation is not the same as control. It simply reflects a willingness to engage with the experience. You remain capable of accepting or rejecting suggestions.

"How do I know that hypnosis will work for me?"

Hypnosis is a natural trance state you experience everyday during your transition to sleep. When your body is ready to be hypnotized, your mind naturally tends to follow.

"Are hypnosis and sleep the same thing?"

Hypnosis is not the same as sleep. The brain is more active during trance than in sleep. You're able to respond, move, or talk in trance. While the majority of people won't experience a deep trance state as if they are sleepwalking, they can experience it as if they are in a daydream. This trance state can also be just as effective.

"Can I get stuck in hypnosis?"

No, you cannot get stuck in hypnosis. Regular maintenance using suggestions or activities is required to keep a person under trance. A person who stops being responsive but then wakes up the next day has fallen asleep. They were never stuck in hypnosis.

"Will I be able to remember everything from the hypnosis session?"

People may make requests to forget their names or specific events under special circumstances. However, when something is important, then eventually they will remember it.

"Will I be put in a trance, and when I wake up, I'll be all better?"

No, that's not how this works.

Some people experience noticeable improvements after their first session. Others require additional sessions depending on the complexity of the challenge and the outcome they want to achieve.

Hypnotherapy is not magic. Problems are multifaceted and require a series of sessions depending on the complexity or desired outcome. Yet, hypnotherapy is the fastest way to make changes. The process of change begins in the first session.

"Is hypnosis dangerous?"

No, hypnosis itself is not dangerous. In the wrong hands it can be harmful, just like a screwdriver, book, or toy can be. When you are drunk or high on drugs and want to experience hypnosis, an entire room can become a restricted closet. It can be more serious when you want to use hypnosis for surgery or child birthing because not everyone is a candidate for even one of those options. Both require testing because some people will without a doubt require anesthesia. You want to work with someone who understands hypnosis.

"Is hypnosis black magic?"

No, hypnosis is not black magic. I cannot make you do anything against your will or your values. I will let you know if this changes because I am constantly on the lookout for zombies or sleepwalkers to become my slaves. Unfortunately they will only do mindless things for personal, nonsensical reasoning, and this won't change until their values to become my slaves has turned into a positive.
